Testimonials

Dear Mila

First, my wife and I want to thank you not only for taking our cat, Stina, and for all the time you spent with us today, but even more for the assurance that Stina will have a good life for now at LHS, and find a good home. Our house seems empty without her, but now that we are spending much time in Sweden, it is a disservice to her to disrupt her life with temporary placements. Such an affectionate friend deserves the care of LHS.

This note also provides me with the opportunity to express deep admiration and appreciation for all that you have done over the years, and continue to do, on behalf of companion and farm animals throughout New Hampshire and beyond. As a former humane investigator in Vermont, and most recently animal control officer in two towns in New Hampshire, I have worked with many so-called humane societies, but frankly LHS is one of the few that lives up to that name by being truly human and humane.

You always go the extra mile to not only save animals in need, but to bring them back to health and to improve their quality of life. There is no work that is more noble than that. I look forward to continued involvement with LHS in any way that might be helpful.

Sincerely, for the animals,
Eugene Elander

Dear Mila

Sammy is my best friend and i dont know what i would do with out him. I want to help animals so bad it hurts. There are so many things I want to tell people i just dont know how to get started. Do you have any ideas??? I need them so badly.

I am willing to do anything I can. I was thinking about making a web page but how many people will see that. I need to do hands on work. BUT where and how????? It is so stressful when all you want to do is get your message across and you can't. Most people think well shes just a child what does she know but i hav been reseaching animals and learning more and more about the cruelty going on around me, that people are to blind to see since i was 6.

I know my destiny has to do with animals and i want to start HELPING NOW. I didn't know what to do so i decided to come to you. I need your help so bad i just don'[t kno wht to do. Everytime i walk Sammy people walk up to me and tell me how nice he is and I tell them his story. They always say what a wonderful dog he is and how far hes come. Sammy has learned to heel, sit, come, laydown, and turn around. He is a AMAZING addition to our family and i wouldn't trade him for the world.

Today as i am writing this we have just came back from camping and we went shopping for Sammys 1st birthday. We bought him a lot of presents. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OF WHAT I CAN DO OR IF I CAN HELP YOU TELL ME!! please right me back mila i need some sort of inspiration!!!!

Yours Truly,
Emily Ramsay

Dear Mrs. Rizzo

Well it has been about a month since Rockie came to my parents. He is the best thing that happened to them. He is smart, loving and just a great pet. He goes everywhere with my parentrkys.

He loves the water. My son was cutting some ice and it made a small water hole, Rockie lies down in the the water and loves it.

When the snow is gone we are sure he will be in the pond all the time. Dad just loves him. Rockie sleeps with him every night. My brother has a great dane, Frankie, when the two dogs get together everyone is doubled over in laughter.

They get along great. He is a people dog. He loves company and when my sons go out to their grandparents he gets excited and wants to play. Thank you so much talking to us that first day and getting to know my Dad. You could not have found a better dog for my parents.

Thank you so much
Jodi Shannon

Dear Mila

I have just spoken to you on the telephone and visited you website (very impressive). I was the lady who phoned you regarding my son needing foster care for his cats for 2 month.

I just wanted to thank you once again for the advise you gave to me. You put everything into perspective, showing me both sides of the coin. I have been on the phone for hours trying to get help/advice/ suggestions, and you are the only person who took time out to talk to me, and help me. Thank you so much!

You are right. Life has its good times and its down times. I keep saying to my son."this too shall pass" during the down times. And It does.

Keep your face to the sunshine Mila,
and Thank you again.

Gail McL.

Hi Mila

know you hate e-mail but I am in a meeting dfdfand cannot call at the moment. I wanted to thank you for the time you spent with me today and for your love and passion to save animals.

It's so nice to know there are people out there who care so much about animals that they are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the animals are placed in compatible homes where both the owner and the dog will live a happy life together.

I have been thinking about Wilma and there is just something in my gut that is telling me not to do it .. so I am going to go with my gut, as it is usually correct. Thanks again for spending the time to talk with me and I wish you luck in your future career working with and placing animals!

.....and Buster too!

I admire what you amazing people can do for all these animals.

I think all of you people who work at this humane society is wonderful. You are an inspiration to all the children and teenagers, like me, because those of us who love animals dearly, want to be like you. Ever since I can remember, I've always loved animals and have helped them whenever I can.

Since I was little, when I started talking I guess you could say, I've always said how much I love animals and have wanted to volunteer or open my own humane society for the animals I can find who are helpless against their uncaring owners that abuse or neglect them. Being an animal lover, I cannot stand seeing an animal be hurt, I can see all the pain, if they are abused and I go around them, I can almost sense it.

I hope you read this e-mail because in the area I live in is suppose to open an animal shelter/humane society for the animals here. I am going to be one of the volunteers because if how much I care. Before we can open the shelter, we have to raise money, so I am going to put together bake sales, raffles, and car washes and much more so I can help the animals in my area. I hope you know how much of an inspiration you are to me, and let all the animals at your shelter be safe and happy and go to good homes with warm and caring love,

Kelsey

Good Evening,

"WOW", was I shocked to see the Web-site for the first time Tonight. I was actually looking around for a possible Adoption, In the near future for my 3 older Children.

I live in Littleton. This made me read more about your Site and,Stories. I used to live in Lancaster back in 1981 until around 1989.I am amazed at how most People/Owner's of Animals can be."HEARTLESS" It broke my Heart to read about Luke and,Angel. I am aware that the Stories go back as far as 2001. I didn't realize or understand all that you do for the Animals around our area(s).The Support is Wonderful. I will now have to stop in soon and, say "HI".

Keep up the Great Work.....

If, I can be of any assistance to helping out? Please, let me know. Keep me posted, when you can.Yourself, other Vet's, and, everyone who help, give the Animals back their lives they should have been given. You give them, so much Love and, care. I "Pray" that People know all you do.

It feels good to know your all out there..Thanks alot !!

Sincerely,

Deborah Severino McCarthy

Dear Mila

We thank you so very much for introducing us to Sadie. She is wonderful! She has shown NO signs of aggression.

She is very calm, loves to be petted & be wherever you are, as in picture likes the couch with Ben! She is eating well, gets along with Champ and they frequently share the couch! She likes to be near the woodstove.

Once again thank you for trusting us. I guarantee you she has a good home! We love her!

Sincerely,
Uncle Ben and Linda

Dear Mila

Thanks again for Felicity. She was adopted by a member of our family. We live next door so she (and Felicity) are beloved members of the Jensen family. Thanks again for all your wonderful work.
